On June 14, 2023, at exactly 12:00 a.m., in Houston, Texas, Archer came into the world. His eyes were open from the very first moment—calm, curious, and already taking everything in.
When I (his father) held out my finger, he wrapped his tiny hand around it, and in that instant, everything changed. He didn’t shout like most newborns do. He cried just enough to take his first breath, but even then, there was something different about him.
